Where is Frogmore Fish Camp?

Frogmore Fish Camp is located on St. Helena Island, about 10 minutes from Hunting Island State Park and 20 minutes from downtown Beaufort.
How many guests can the property accommodate?

The property sleeps up to nine guests—six in the three-bedroom Main House and three in the detached Bunk House..
What beaches are nearby?

Hunting Island State Park is just about 10 minutes from Frogmore Fish Camp and offers five miles of beautiful beach, maritime forest, walking trails and a saltwater lagoon. A South Carolina State Parks pass is provided for your stay, so you can come and go without paying park admission. Please return the pass to the wooden bowl on the island after each visit. There is a $125 replacement fee if the pass is lost. Weekends and holidays can be busy, so we recommend heading over early.
Where can we get groceries?

For a full grocery run, we recommend Publix or Harris Teeter on Lady’s Island. Both are conveniently located on the way to St. Helena Island, so it’s easiest to stop before arriving at the Fish Camp.
How close are you to downtown Beaufort?

Frogmore Fish Camp is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Beaufort—close enough to enjoy its restaurants, shops and waterfront, while still feeling tucked away on St. Helena outdoors.
Where can we buy wine, beer or liquor?

For wine, spirits and all things cocktail hour, Bill’s Liquors & Fine Wine on Lady’s Island is our preferred local shop
Where can we buy fresh seafood to cook at the Fish Camp?

Stop at Gay Fish Company for fresh local shrimp and seafood. Seasonal farm stands also pop up along Sea Island Parkway for fresh produce
Where can we pick up prepared food instead of cooking?

The Kitchen on Lady’s Island has delicious ready-made dishes and provisions—perfect when you want an easy supper back at the Fish Camp.
Where should we eat nearby?

On St. Helena Island, some favorites include Gullah Grub for traditional Gullah dishes, Shrimp Shack for its famous shrimp burger, The Foolish Frog for Lowcountry seafood and marsh views, Beedos for burgers and sandwiches, Another Slice for pizza and barbecue, and Seaside Bar & Grill for casual dining.
Where should we go for a casual drink and bite?

JTC’s is the local dive—go salty and fresh from the beach when you need a mid-afternoon cocktail and a bite
What about dinner with a view?

Try Morgan River Grillat the Dataw Island Marina or Lady’s Island Dockside for waterfront dining and sunset views. Reservations are recommended at Morgan River Grill.
Is there a grill at the Fish Camp?

Yes. There is a gas grill under the house for guest use
Can we use the dock?

Yes. Just remember that Lowcountry tides can dramatically change conditions around the dock. Children should always be supervised, and appropriate flotation devices should be used when boating or paddling.
What is a fish camp, exactly?

A fish camp is a Lowcountry tradition—a simple place by the water where the days revolve around tides, fishing, boating, fresh seafood and slowing down. Frogmore Fish Camp is our take on that tradition: a comfortable waterfront retreat where you can launch from the dock, bring home local shrimp for supper, watch the tide roll through the marsh and settle in for a spectacular sunset.
