A Lowcountry Tradition
in the Making

Located along the Harbor River on St. Helena Island, Frogmore Fish Camp sits at the end of a quiet dirt road where the marsh stretches to the horizon and the tides shape the rhythm of the day.

The property takes its current name from the historic Frogmore community, one of the most storied corners of St. Helena Island. As you turn onto Seaside Road, you'll pass Frogmore Manor, a familiar local landmark. Beyond it lie winding tidal creeks, fertile farmland, working waterways, and generations of Lowcountry history.

This is a place where shrimp boats still ply the rivers, oysters grow wild along the banks, and the rhythms of the water continue to shape daily life. The island's rich Gullah-Geechee heritage, preserved through institutions like nearby Penn Center, remains woven into the landscape and culture of St. Helena today.

Our family discovered this property while searching for a place to slow down and reconnect with the water, and each other. We were immediately drawn not only to the sweeping marsh views and tree canopy, but to the character of St. Helena Island itself—its independent restaurants and dive bars, its deep-rooted traditions, its working waterways, and the feeling that some places still exist outside the rush of modern life and the relentless pursuit of perfection.

Originally designed by a local architect, Frogmore Fish Camp captures the spirit of Lowcountry living—unpretentious, welcoming, and deeply connected to the water. Weathered cedar shingles, sweeping marsh views, and Spanish moss draping centuries-old live oaks create a sense of place that feels both timeless and authentic to St. Helena Island.

Today, we are honored to serve as stewards of this special property and to share it with others who appreciate the natural beauty, history, and culture that make this corner of the South Carolina coast so remarkable.

Accommodating up to six guests, the property features three bedrooms and two full baths, including two bedrooms on the main level and a loft retreat upstairs. Inside, you'll find a thoughtfully equipped kitchen, comfortable gathering spaces, and everything needed for an extended stay. Outside, guests can enjoy the private dock, outdoor shower, covered parking, and front-row views of the ever-changing marsh.

Whether you're casting for redfish at sunrise, paddling through winding tidal creeks, exploring the beaches and history of St. Helena Island, or simply watching the changing light dance across the marsh from the dock, Frogmore Fish Camp offers an authentic Lowcountry experience rooted in nature, heritage, and connection.
